Day 16 of 21 Days Of Prayer

April 23, 2024

There is a praise chorus, written by Mark Altrogge, called I Stand In Awe. The lyrics  are based on Psalm 33: 8 and read,

You are beautiful beyond description,

Too marvelous for words;

Too wonderful for comprehension,

Like nothing ever seen or heard.

Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?

Who can fathom the depth of Your love?

You are beautiful beyond description,

Majesty enthroned above.

And I stand in awe of You,

I stand, I stand in awe of You;

Holy God, to whom all praise is due,

I stand in awe of You.

I stand in awe of You.

I stand in awe of You.

Today's inspiration expresses a similar thought, but written many centuries earlier.

Day 16 – April 23

Contributed by Laura Allyn

His Voice as the Sound

based on Song Of Solomon 2

His voice as the sound of the dulcimer sweet

is heard through the valley of death;

the cedars of Lebanon bow at his feet,

the air is perfumed with his breath.

His lips as a fountain of righteousness flow

that waters the garden of grace,

from which their salvation the gentiles shall know,

and bask in the smile of his face.

Love sits in his eyelids and scatters delight

through all the bright regions on high.

Their faces the cherubim veil in his sight,

and tremble with fullness of joy.

He looks, and ten thousands of angels rejoice,

and myriads wait for his word,

He speaks, and eternity, filled with his voice,

re-echoes the praise of her Lord.

Looking Ahead

Lord You are our Lamp and Shield

Your way is perfect,

and Your word is true;

You are our Light and Refuge.

Some of our prayers on the National Day of Prayer will focus on Arts, Entertainment & Media

Creator, Author of our Days, the Word,

Potter who designs, defines, and delivers us;

You bestow the skill and stir the heart to perform,

We lift up the Word and light up the Arts,

Entertainment and Media.

Exodus 35: 30-34

Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See the Lord has chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts - to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. And he has given both him and Oholiab, son of Ahisamuch, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.

May God continue to bless our prayer journey together.
